The more we check in, the more the body will communicate. It is just like any other relationship. How good of a relationship do you have with your body? Do you understand the language it uses to speak to you?Mine is cool, but not the best. I have been considering how my reactions to the outer world differ from my reactions to myself and my own inner dialogue. I consider the priority that I create for my own needs and desires and how it compares to the priority I create for everything else. Sometimes I am on the back burner. I am becoming aware of how conscious I really am of the seasons that both my physical and spiritual body is going through. These are concepts and ideas nobody taught me, and I have learned solely from meditation and experience. I have never in 29 years heard anyone suggest I ask my body for what season it’s in. Recently, it feels like and I have discovered it’s a transitional season. A pause and intermission. This brings on different types of reactions. I’m learning compassion. I’m learning to forgive myself and offer understanding to impulsive or impatient reflexes and instincts that I have yet to deprogram from. I’m working on giving myself space and rest to reflect and process lessons that come in one million per minute. I’ve spoken to a few of my close friends and we all seem to be dealing with a transient period. As much as that is comforting, it also brings feelings of pressure and the notion that I am not doing enough. I feel that I need to come up with answers, direction for the lull, content for my IG, a long thought out informational piece of writing for this newsletter. Truth is, I don’t. That’s where the compassion comes in. That’s when my programmed reaction is to be observed. It’s valuable to understand that the way we speak to ourselves is learned behavior just like the way we speak to other individuals is. Why am I hellbent or denying myself, my body and my own mind the energy and attention I deserve during the appropriate time? Why do I feel less than for not being active in a time that Spirit is obviously setting aside for restful transition? If everyone else is saying they feel good being at a pause, why can’t I?</p><p class="" style="color:inherit;margin-bottom:1.25em;font-size:1.0625em;line-height:1.618em;font-weight:normal;font-family:'Segoe UI', Candara, 'Bitstream Vera Sans', 'DejaVu Sans', 'Trebuchet MS', Verdana, sans-serif;letter-spacing:-.01em;">I want to conjure energy so I can gift it. This energy is gifted on credit, because I don’t have shit to share sometimes. I’ll have to pay for it later when I am completely exhausted and depleted. Why am I so willing to feel out of alignment? Why am I so opposed to being a passive presence? Why is my genuine desire to pause not valid to me?&nbsp; Why is that bad and so annoying to me? Often there is aggression, guilt, resentment and judgment that circulate throughout our conversations and interactions. I feel like mine has come from being rejected, left out and ignored. Even if I am not constantly projecting these emotions, they are present. I am aware that there is a wound there that is constantly healing. All of these chaotic and vile emotions culminate in my personal inner dialogue. I want to be nothing like those that have bypassed me. It speaks volumes of weakness and lack of empathy. This makes my reactions to the outer world instant and passionate. I am quick to come up with a brilliant solution, an enthusiastic presence, and be an active listener.&nbsp; This is a harsh comparison to the reaction offered to my own need to chill the fuck out. Recently a good friend of mine explained to me that, sometimes being a passive listener and offering a passive presence should be considered a viable alternative more often. He says that sometimes people just want you to hear them out and create space for them. It’s up to you if you are up for the task of being an active listener, it’s not required. Creating the space is always more than enough. This to me is a new concept. It sounds so gentle when I think about it and it has brought me a lot of insight. This is a reaction I’m taking more into consideration. This to me brings peace and compassion to both ends and is neutral in the best way imaginable. This is when the deprogramming comes in and growth begins to happen. New ideas begin to form.
